Manju Warrier
Manju Warrier is an Indian actress and dancer who is best known for her performances in Malayalam films. She is considered one of Malayalam cinema’s most successful actresses. Manju was born in Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu, to Madhavan Warrier and Girija Warrier. Her family moved to Kannur after she finished her primary study at the CSI Matriculation Higher Secondary. She went on to Chinmaya Vidyalaya and Chovva Higher Secondary School to finish her education. On October 20, 1998, Manju Warrier married fellow actor Dileep at Alwaye Sri Krishna Temple. They divorced in 2015.
Manju Warrier began her acting career in the Doordarshan television series Mohavaram. However, she made her film debut with the box office blockbuster Sakshyam (1995). Manju went on to star in about 20 films after 1996, spanning three decades. In 1997, she co-starred with Mohanlal in the film Aaraam Thampuran. The film went on to become one of the year’s biggest hits, with a successful 250-day run in theatres. Her following film, Kanmadam (1998), starring Mohanlal, was also a success. Continually putting on commendable performances. Her performance in Kannezhuthi Pottum Thottu got her the National Film Award – Special Jury Award. For the film Ee Puzhayum Kadannu, she received the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress, and she has also won two Filmfare Awards for Best Actress. She married actor Dileep in 1998 and afterward stopped acting. After a 15-year break, she returned to the big screen with the critically and commercially acclaimed film How Old Are You? (2014). Following the success of How Old Are You, Manju reunited with Mohanlal for the first time in 17 years for Sathyan Anthikad’s film Ennum Eppozhum (2015).
